Today I Learned – December 2024

Insights from the NACFE Team

NACFE does most of its work in the field at industry events and learns a lot each month. Here are some things we learned over the last month.

—    Rick Mihelic, Director of Emerging Technologies

40% of what we spend on energy, approximately 5% of total Global GDP equaling $4.6 trillion per year, goes up in smoke because of fossil fuel industry inefficiency.

—    Ken North, Emerging Technologies Consultant

—    Dave Schaller, Director of Industry Engagement

Both utilities and fleets are interested in meeting with each other to discuss how they can get power to truck chargers.

—    Rob Graff, Senior Technical Advisor

Some advanced utilities are offering flexible interconnections, wherein fleets get extra power overnight, something that could be a win-win for fleets that want their connections quickly and for utilities that have limited grid capacity.
