NACFE Updates Its Popular Fleet Fuel Study
From Executive Director Mike Roeth
The Fleet Fuel Study is one of NACFE’s most downloaded reports. And this year we are introducing several meaningful updates to the Fleet Fuel Study. It is the only one we update on a regular cadence — now every two years.
First, we’re renaming it the Fleet Efficiency Study. The new name more directly captures the study’s core purpose — tracking which efficiency technologies and practices fleets are adopting — without a bias toward any particular technology.
We’ve also refreshed the list of technologies covered in the survey that we ask fleets to complete. And for the first time, we’ll be breaking out technology adoption separately for regional haul and line-haul fleets. Our data has consistently shown that fleets operating in different duty cycles adopt technologies at different rates, and this update will allow us to reflect that more clearly.
Finally, we’ve built a new data portal for survey participants that makes data entry easier, allows fleets to view their prior submissions, and enables benchmarking of both technology adoption and MPG against other study participants.
Together, these changes are designed to drive broader fleet participation, deliver greater value to those who take part, and help the industry accelerate its progress on efficiency.
There is still time to participate in this year’s study.
