NACFE & Shell Publish Efficiency Report
The Driving Maximum Efficiency report from Shell and NACFE highlights the existing technologies being implemented by high‑efficiency fleets to achieve best‑in‑class freight efficiency and lower‑carbon performance. Key technologies and practices include maintenance practices and data use that prioritize fuel efficiency, adoption of low viscosity and FA-4 technologies, and increasing use of alternative fuels such as renewable natural gas.
The report also looked at the role of advanced lubricants including low high-temperature, high-shear products that are designed for enhanced fuel efficiency. A deployment roadmap provides a pathway for fleets to switch from their current oils to low-viscosity engine oils and lubricants.
