Looking Back at 2024
The end of the year is always a good time to reflect on the things that the NACFE team has accomplished to make sure we are fulfilling our promise to the industry. NACFE’s work falls into two broad categories — research which leads to published reports and industry thought leadership. With that in mind here are the projects the team completed this year.
- Released a Confidence Report, Natural Gas’ Role in Decarbonizing Trucking, in March.
- Helped the DOE and the truck OEMs celebrate the SuperTruck 2 program with a report — SuperTruck2: Empowering Future Trucks— a video and industry presentation.
- Analyzed the data and interview information from Run on Less – Electric DEPOT at a Data Workshop in Boulder, CO in March.
- Published two reports on Run on Less – Electric DEPOT. The first was Electric Truck Depots Are Evolving: How 10 Fleets Grew Their BEV Populations in May. The second was Run on Less – Electric DEPOT: Scaling BEVs In The Real World in July.
- Published a Guidance Report, Decarbonizing Truck and Trailer Refrigeration, in October.
- Completed the 2024 Fleet Fuel Study on technologies adoption rates and will be publishing it late in December.
- Led discussions at more than 110 industry events and workshops.
- Announced the scope and plans for the fifth Run on Less, Run on Less – Messy Middle, which will take place in the fall of 2025.
- Hosted a Northeast Utility & Fleet Speed Dating event that brought together 10 fleets with 10 utilities in November in Newark, NJ.
- Celebrated our 15th Anniversary in November.
In addition to Run on Less – Messy Middle, we have a host of other projects planned for 2025. Stay tuned for details.
