This open workshop jointly led by NREL, ORNL and NACFE will focus on research, technical challenges, and future direction related to the electrification of medium and heavy duty vehicles (including vehicle charging). Topics of discussion will include electrified powertrain architectures, energy storage and power electronics challenges, charging equipment and facility / operations challenges of electrified medium and heavy duty trucks for all vocations. The objectives of the workshop are to:
- Exchange information with key laboratories, industry OEMs and operational fleets on the current state of technology for medium and heavy duty on-road vehicles.
- Help identify technical challenges
- Provide input to help shape the future for medium and heavy duty R&D
