In coordination with the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Vehicle Technologies Office and their ongoing medium and heavy duty research efforts and the North American Council for Freight Efficiency (NACFE), you are cordially invited by the DOE & NACFE to a Commercial Vehicle Data Analytics Workshop that will take place at the Indianapolis Convention Center in Indianapolis, IN on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. The workshop will start at 8:30 AM and finish at noon.
This open workshop will focus on identifying and refining commercial vehicle data sources and data analysis approaches to inform medium and heavy duty R&D activities. Types of data to be discussed will include vehicle operation, infrastructure, freight volume and roadway logistics data as well as other sources/types. Topics of discussion will include exploration of existing data, identification of new data sources, methods to integrate dissimilar data sources, exploration of new novel data analytics methods and tools including the use of the DOE’s National Laboratory computational resources, and approaches to address privacy and the extraction of information for researchers.
The objectives of the workshop are to:
- Learn about the latest medium and heavy duty data and data analysis efforts underway through NACFE’s Run On Less demonstrations
- Learn about the latest medium and heavy duty data, data analytics and tool development efforts underway at the DOE National Labs – including discussions on what R&D questions / efforts can be supported
- Help identify new data needs and best practices for analyzing and sharing information across a broad spectrum of industry partners
- Provide input to help shape the future of medium and heavy duty focused data analytics
By attending this workshop, you will have the chance to discuss and interact with experts in their respective fields. You will also find out how you can be involved in the DOE medium and heavy duty research effort and well as the new 2019 Run On Less Regional Haul demonstration by NACFE.
Speakers, topics, and agenda information will be sent out to all registered attendees. As this workshop takes place during the Work Truck Show and the Green Truck Summit, hotels are filling up quickly so please make room reservations as soon as possible.
